WMS keeps the Monopoly action coming for mobile players, this time with Monopoly Big Event, which joins the likes of Epic Monopoly 2 within their gaming range. This one is slightly more traditional, foregoing gimmicks like the Colossal Reels to put together a Monopoly game that fans of the board game and perhaps even the older IGT slots will surely appreciate. WMS has never disappointed on this kind of game before and we certainly cannot imagine them doing so now, so we will be finding out all about what this particular game has in store within the full review below.
What to Expect
As noted, Monopoly Big Event is about as standard in terms of the base gameplay as it gets with WMS, at least at first glance. Twenty win lines and just three rows of symbols ensure that the game is accessible for all kinds of players, and the mix of themed symbols on the board will appeal to all sorts of players. The symbol with ‘wild’ written on it is the wild card and it will fill in for anything other than the scatter throughout.
You could approach the game in the normal manner, spinning and hopefully winning in the standard way, but you could instead opt to have a go at the Big Bet. You could pay £20 for a round of five spins and these will benefit from a multiplier which starts at one time, or effectively nothing, on the first spin, and then increases by one on each subsequent spin, ensuring that wins on the fifth and final spin will be boosted five times over. Alternatively, you may go with £30 for five spins. Before the spins play out, a wheel will spin to decide on which one of three features will be added in. It could be the same increasing multiplier as on the £20 round, but could also be a guaranteed five times multiplier on all spins or five spins with an additional sticky wild, which is unquestionably the best of the lot.
Regardless of how you decide to play, you will ultimately be looking to enter the Big Event free spins. If you trigger the round with three scatters, you will enter as normal. Do so with four or five and you will get a preview of where the house or hotel cards are hidden on the board respectively. You will then head to a pick bonus where you can pick cards to determine the number of spins to be played and also some additional features. The benefits of knowing where the house and hotel cards are come from the fact that they offer some of the most powerful bonuses on the board, with hotels leading to sticky wilds and houses leading to a guaranteed expanding wild on each spin.
The MobileCasino.net Verdict
This is another mobile slot that misses out on the opportunity to give players the chance to travel around the actual Monopoly board but, as on Epic Monopoly 2, there is plenty going on otherwise to ensure that it is by no means a glaring omission. There is a little too much randomness for our tastes overall, but that is definitely an accepted part of slots gaming and we know that many players will go crazy for it.
