Golden Ticket Slot

Circuses and theme parks, all that kind of wholesome family entertainment, have always been rather popular picks among slots developers and players alike when it comes to inspiration for a theme. It makes sense, as we are all here to be entertained after all, and Play’n Go throws its hat into the ring in the genre with the impeccably stylish Golden Ticket. This is one slot game that some players may have heard of even if they have not necessarily heard of the developer, as it has gone on to become rather popular and easy to find, and much of that comes down to truly impressive gameplay. There is not a lot that is new here, but it makes for quite a potent total package and players can find out all about it in the full review after the jump.

What to Expect

Golden Ticket Play'n Go SlotThere is immediately plenty to like about Golden Ticket thanks to the look of the game and the effort that has gone into the symbols, but there is absolutely no question that the first thing that will catch a player’s eye is the sheer size of the board. Play’n Go generally goes with three rows of symbols, an sometimes extends it to four on games like Golden Legend. Here, they have taken things one step further with five rows of symbols in play, effectively making for a square board.

The game is technically an all pays affair, but the specifics of the action mean that you need to get three touching symbols anywhere on the board rather than starting from left to right. Complete a winning combination and the symbols in question will disappear from the board, leaving a single wild card behind in the same position as the middle symbol in the combination. This can of course lead to another win, and the multiplier amount increases by one with each consecutive clear. We are not actually sure how high this multiplier can go, primarily because it usually caps out around four times for us, but would imagine that it could well go as high as ten times or more if you manage to get a particularly spectacular streak going.

The word ‘bonus’ is printed onto the back of the board, hidden away by symbols, and if you can use your chained wins to clear out the symbols that sit in the way of it, then you will trigger the Golden Ticket free spins. In a very rare occurrence on the reels, we actually prefer the base game spins as there are no wild cards left behind after a win – and we have no idea why!

The Verdict

We have seen this kind of action from Play’n Go before and Golden Ticket continues the established trend of this by no means being a game for every taste. Indeed, some players will be put off by the cluster wins and the relative weakness of the free spins bonus. However, if you enjoy this kind of gameplay then it can prove to be a solid all-rounder with plenty of winning potential – just be aware that Golden Ticket’s brand of gaming action is by no means for everyone!
