Crazy Cows Slot

The last slot that we added to the reviews section here at was a classic slot by Play’n Go that goes by the name of 5x Magic and we mentioned on several occasions that while they may be the top purveyor of classic slots action on mobile devices at the moment, their bread and butter remains innovative video slots. Speak of the devil, here comes Crazy Cows with every chance of proving exactly that point. The game gets off to a truly stunning start thanks to some truly impressive graphics at every turn, and then keeps things ticking over nicely with a bunch of features that players will admittedly have probably seen before, but perhaps not in such a tidy little package.

What to Expect

Crazy Cows Play'n Go SlotThe good news is that the theme of this game seemingly has nothing to do with Mad Cow Disease, and the Crazy Cows involved with this action are just a little bit zany rather than being outright infected! We are full of appreciation for the fact that the tiresome playing card icons used on most games have been replaced here, specifically by the letters that make up the word ‘crazy’ and while they still fill in the role of providing the lower-value wins on the game, they add to the visual appeal. There are only fifteen win lines in play here on this game, making it easy to play but at the same time perhaps a little too simple for some, although the features offer a helping hand at all times. There is the obligatory wild card, depicted by the starring bull, and while he can appear on all reels, he is extra special when he lands on the middle one as he will expand to cover it completely.

The mid-reel wild also plays a part in the first of the features. Land a half of the pendant on reels two and four, either side of a wild on reel three and you will receive between two and four free respins. The wild will expand to cover the whole reel as expected and will of course then remain in place while all of your respins play out.

Any win that you land on the board can be taken into the gamble round, which we generally associate with older slots but are never too put out to see on modern releases. It is pretty traditional in function too, as players can aim to double their prize by guessing the colour of the next card drawn, or push things a little further by guessing the suit, with four times the prize value being up for grabs.

All of this is building to the main event on Crazy Cows, just as players would expect, and this involves the proper free spins bonus round. Land three barn scatters on the board at the same time and the first job is to choose one of three available cows to dive from the roof of the barn into a bucket. The farmer’s dog then appears to award a cash prize, together with some free spins that are somehow determined by how good your chosen cow’s jump was! Generally speaking, players can expect between five and fifty free games, although we have never reached either limit and generally got used to the idea of playing through around a dozen of them. The round begins with a two times multiplier in effect, but if two scattered farm dog symbols show up on a single spin, it will increase by one, up to a maximum of five.

The Verdict

The theme on this game is so well-implemented that we have no hesitation in calling Crazy Cows every bit as Crazy as it claims to be. The gameplay and features are no slouches either and while there is nothing truly creative and innovative on display here as players would find on the likes of 7 Sins, as a total package Crazy Cows is a very good game indeed and definitely worth a few minutes of any player’s time.
