Genie Wild Slot

It has been a while since we have played Genie Wild for our own enjoyment, but we can think of no better reason to get right back into the action than to bring our readers the lowdown on exactly what the game has to offer. Given our existing insight, we know already that this game will not be for everyone as it simply does not push the boat out when it comes to either gameplay or features, and some players could conceivably find themselves becoming a bit bored before long. At the same time, the game is one of the best-known NextGen mobile slots out there for a reason, so it must have something going for it. It is by no means the second coming of Foxin’ Wins – that was actually Foxin’ Wins Again if we are to be pedantic – but it is still a solid game that a certain audience is sure to enjoy.

What to Expect

Genie Wild Mobile SlotGiven the three-dimensional introduction to the game, you might well be expecting some truly stunning looks from this game, although it is fair to say that you might leave disappointed. The main symbols on the board are actually pretty underwhelming, although we have a hunch that this was done intentionally to make the genie herself look all the more spectacular. She does look good indeed, and even better in the main bonus round which we will come on to shortly. As far as the base game goes, the symbols might be nothing to write home about but they are all still worth a decent amount of cash in their own right, and NextGen’s favoured 25-line layout is in effect for players to match them all up over.

While the base game board keeps things ticking over very nicely indeed, the main reason to play this game is the free spins round, and three scatters in view at the same time will lead to the award of ten fixed free games. Here, the genie comes into her own, both in terms of the look and the functionality. When a wild card lands on the board during free spins, it will expand to cover the whole reel, allowing the genie to expand into her full form. We are not entirely sure whether the wild is programmed to land more frequently during the bonus round than the base game, but it certainly feels like it, and that can only be good news when it comes to the winning potential here on this one.

The Verdict

Genie Wild is a solid game in all areas that just misses out on branching out into spectacular territory. We generally compare games to others from the same developer and we feel in this case that the slot would benefit from some more frequent triggers of the free spins round, especially when they are clearly the most important element of the slot overall. As it stands, the game is still above average and we can see why it is so popular, but there are simply enough games elsewhere in the NextGen range that we would prefer to play over and above this one. It all comes down to taste and preference, of course, and you can try this one along with all of your NextGen favourites at the great mobile casinos featured above.
