More Gold Diggin’ Slot

Unlike Madder Scientist, which was the last BetSoft slot that we reviewed here at and was the follow-up to an existing slot game from the company, More Gold Diggin’ appears to be the first game of its series. We went in search of a Gold Diggin’ slot but came up empty handed, so we can only assume that the name of this game is a reference to the fact that there are plenty of options out there that make use of this theme. That means that the competition is fierce and that this game will have to perform pretty well in order to stand out, but given what we have seen from the developer recently, it might just have a chance.

What to Expect

More Gold Diggin Mobile SlotWe were quite surprised by the graphics on offer here on this game, and not necessarily in a good way. More Gold Diggin’ is clearly one of the 3D slots that is just about all that BetSoft do nowadays, but while we are accustomed to seeing plenty of characters and themed objects on the reels in that style, this one actually feels kind of lazy for want of a better term. The vast majority of the symbols that you will encounter on this board are rocks and minerals, and while they look nice enough, they are short of ensuring the visual quality that we have come to expect on games like this. The pay lines have been reduced from the standard thirty too, with just 25 on offer here over the same size board.

There is at least seemingly some method in the madness when it comes to the choice of win lines, as this is one of only a select few BetSoft mobile slots to make use of rolling reels. The chances are that we will have all seen it before, with NetEnt’s Gonzo’s Quest and IGT’s Da Vinci Diamonds being pretty legendary in their own right and also employing this feature. For the uninitiated, when a win lands, the contributing symbols will explode and that leaves enough room for more symbols to land from above on the board. If you manage to collect consecutive wins in this manner, which happens relatively often, then you will introduce an increasing multiplier into the fold, which is capped at five times in the base game and fifteen in the bonus round.

One thing that we did like about More Gold Diggin’ is that the dynamite symbol appears pretty often. This is the wild card and even though it only appears on reels two, three and four, it is always a pleasant sight to see when you are chaining together rolling reels wins.

The final important symbol is the barrel, and this one needs to land on reels one, two and three at the same time in order for ten free spins to come into play. That is not the most generous number of spins ever, but the rolling reels continue to play a part and, as noted, the multiplier attached to them can now reach a far more palatable fifteen times the regular prize value.

The Verdict

We referred to the graphics on More Gold Diggin’ as being lazy, and we feel that the term could be applied to the game as a whole when compared to some of the more outstanding BetSoft slots. It almost feels like the design team decided that this was going to be their rolling reels game and that the feature would be the main selling point, with just some standard free spins and wilds thrown into the mix. We wanted to like this game, mainly because we liked the premise, but the chances are that most of our readers will get far more mileage out of something like Rook’s Revenge or Mr Vegas when playing on our featured BetSoft mobile apps.
