When we saw the name Lost crop up on our list of games to play through, we immediately thought that it would have something to do with the television show that was so loved until it petered out into being annoying all those years ago. We cannot say as we were excited, as we cannot even really think of what that kind of theme would bring to the table, but it turned out to be a moot point anyway as this game has nothing to do with it! Instead, this game focuses on the adventures of a bloke that looks quite similar to Daring Dave and the guy out of Book of Ra from Novomatic, although here he is of course rendered in all of BetSoft’s own three-dimensional glory. Book of Ra in particular is quite the lofty comparison and if you are going to bring that game to mind, you had better hope you can deliver, so let’s find out if the features are up to par.
What to Expect
There is not much variety when it comes to the base game on BetSoft’s 3D mobile slots, and Lost once again makes use of the thirty line, five reel pattern that will already be highly familiar to fans. The visual style is exactly what you would expect too, although the tone of the graphics means that this one actually looks a little weaker than comparable games. Nevertheless, if you are into the exploring and adventuring theme then you could do a lot worse in the visual department.
There are a couple of smaller additions to the action on this game, including a wild staff symbol that will expand if it lands on the third reel, leading to it serving as a wild along with a two times multiplier. There is also a very small pick bonus that becomes available if a monkey lands on the fourth reel, where players can pick from six areas to find an instant prize. The base game extras do not end there either, as players can also take advantage of the fact that every win that lands on the board will be paid as normal before the third reel spins again for free. Keep hitting wins and you’ll keep on receiving respins, along with an increasing multiplier that starts at nothing but then rises to two, three and finally five times the regular value.
Ra does make an unexpected appearance here on Lost, or at least his eye does, and players will be looking to land it on all but the middle reel at the same time in order to reach the Mummy’s Tomb. This is one of those features that you will love or hate, as you are tasked with picking a door at each stage. Find cash and you’ll win it, along with proceeding further. As soon as you discover a mummy, however, the round is over and it is back to the base game.
The MobileCasino.net Verdict
As far as we are concerned, Lost is one of the weaker offerings at BetSoft’s partner mobile casino apps. The visuals are not quite on point and the lack of a free spins bonus is not fully compensated for by those respins – although some players will be drawn to the idea of receiving a respin following every win. While we can appreciate the themed effort that went in to the main feature, it hits once in a blue moon and the chances of taking down a top prize are slim. Lost is a decent game, but by no means a great one and unless you are really into the theme, we would have to suggest trying something else instead at the great casinos above.
