We have actually never played Cluedo in our lives, but as we imagine is the case with most of our readers, we have a pretty good idea of what is going on – and quite a bit of that knowledge actually comes from the slots reels. It has been used to inspire pub fruit machines, online slots and now, courtesy of Bally, we have the slightly confusingly named Clue – Spinning Detectives. Apparently, the game is known as Cluedo here in the UK and the rest of Europe, but it is shortened to Clue elsewhere. As it turns out, you might find this game under either brand, but our review version was called Clue so we’re sticking with it. As you would expect from Bally, it is a big, feature-packed game and we cannot wait to get in to the crime-solving action.
What to Expect
We referred to the game as being big, but in fairness most Bally fans will already be completely familiar with the setup here. After all, four rows of symbols and forty win lines to go with them are going to be nothing new to such players, and the wins come around every bit as thick and fast on this game as Bally followers would hope. The game’s logo is the wild and it also comes around in stacks, ensuring that players always have a decent chance of getting the most out of their available lines.
Moving right on to the features, we kick off with the room symbols that are prevalent on the board. The dining room, kitchen, library and all of the other famous ones are represented by their own symbol, and landing just one of them on the board will bring a free respin into play, along with a specific special feature. We won’t spoil all of the surprises, but players can expect something along the lines of a couple of wild reels in the library and between two and fifteen additional bonus wilds on the respin when playing in the kitchen.
The respins are nice, but they are no substitute for the main free spins round. The mansion is the scatter that players will be on the lookout for here and landing it on reels one, three and five at the same time will launch seven free games. That may not sound like many, but it is only the start, as you will now be looking to land the envelope along with regular wins. When you do, another spin is added and you will move on to another, more lucrative room. Ultimately, you are hoping to reach the dining room, where the prizes are the biggest and you will know that you have picked up all available spins.
If the features ended there, we would still be impressed, but Bally has decided to throw in one more bonus on Clue – Spinning Detectives. It is a simple one, but still enhances the action, with a pick bonus becoming available where detectives, rooms, weapons and suspects can all lead to great returns.
The MobileCasino.net Verdict
Even though we have never played the board game, Clue – Spinning Detectives is the kind of branded slot that is excellent whether you are a fan of the subject matter or not. It is packed with features, the traditional forty win lines ensure that the wins tick around nicely and there is some kind of bonus boost always around the corner. Bally rarely misses when it comes to mobile slots and they have delivered once again right here on this game.
