Zorro Slot

Zorro is not exactly the most popular fictional character of all time here in the UK, but he has appeared in enough movies and other media that most of our readers will have at least a decent idea of what he is all about. There is not a whole lot of character driven action on Aristocrat’s mobile slots range so this does represent something of a decent change of pace in its own right and the underlying action will be exactly what fans will be looking for. There are some surprises in store too, however, and this is by no means an identical game to what players may have seen before, and we have plenty to get through over the course of the full review below!

What to Expect

On a basic level, the Zorro slot is about as standard as it gets in the Aristocrat mobile range, with 25 lines of action and a standard five-reel board in play. The themed symbols are cartoonish, almost to a fault, and they are joined by the playing card icons which we have all seen on plenty of occasions by now. However, rather than just setting up your bets in the same way that you would on other 25-line games in the range and jumping straight in, there is something else to consider here on this one.

Zorro Aristocrat SlotThere is a ‘Zorro Bonus’ button on the screen, and you will need to hit that if you plan to make use of any of the features on offer here on the game. Without it, there are basically no features at all, instantly relegating this one to being one of the blandest games in all of mobile slots gaming! We are not entirely sure how we feel about this as the additional bet costs ten coins on top of your standard stake, which must include the maximum number of win lines. We guess we are just used to features being included in your regular stake and the idea of paying more or going without just feels a bit unnatural.

Anyway, we will assume that you are happy to place the additional bet as there is simply no reason to play the Zorro mobile slot without it. sticking it on means that the letters that make up ‘ZORRO’ can now be added on to other symbols on the board, with one on each reel. Land them all at once and spell out the name in full and you will randomly trigger one of five different features. Some are simpler than others, such as the Tornado bonus, which simply instantly awards players with 500 times their line bet.

In the Gold Coins feature, all of the symbols in view will be replaced with gold coins and players will be able to keep on clicking them until they find two that match. The prize will once again be something up to 500 times the line bet, and it is also possible to find a multiplier of up to ten times the regular value, which is applied to your Gold Coins win.

The rest of the possible features all involve free spins and the first of them is the Wild Z round, where three spins are awarded. Prior to each of them, Zorro will use his sword to carve his signature ‘Z’ into the symbol, indicating that it is now wild for the rest of the round. With Magic Door free spins, the number of games rises to five although players will now be given the chance to choose one of the three main characters. When this symbol then lands on a spin it will be clickable, and will award 500, 750 or a thousand times your line bet in addition to any other wins on the board.

Finally, we have our favourite of the features in the Barrel Free Spins, and they share plenty in common with the bonus rounds on many other Aristocrat slots. Here, the choice is yours as you can go for minimal spins and a bigger wild multiplier, which come in at five spins and a boost of five, ten or fifteen times when the wild card plays a part. Alternatively, you can go all out on the spins themselves, with twenty free games and all wild wins doubled. There are also ten and fifteen-spin variants in between, and the potential multipliers are modified accordingly.

The MobileCasino.net Verdict

We are probably never going to be truly happy with the idea of having to pay extra on top of our regular line bets in order to be able to make use of the bonus features on the game, but if you are fine with it then all power to you. The features themselves are, in all fairness, actually pretty good and more extensive than on other, comparable Aristocrat mobile slots. Their random nature can lead to occasional disappointment, such as landing the rather uninvolving Tornado feature over and over, but they all offer up the chance to grab some decent value that makes the additional bet more palatable. This is one Aristocrat slot that is definitely not for everyone, but if what you have read so far sounds good, then you will definitely want to check out everything it has to offer at the great Aristocrat mobile casinos for UK players as featured above!
