New mobile action is on the way for smartphone and tablet players as Genesis Gaming has launched its new Robyn slot in both Flash and HTML5 through Microgaming’s widely used Quickfire platform. Rather than partnering directly with the casinos like some of the bigger developers, Genesis instead releases its games through the platform which ensures that every casino that uses Microgaming software, such as All Slots Mobile and Royal Vegas Mobile, can quickly and seamlessly bring all of the action to players on the day of release – which was just a few days ago!
The game itself is a great looker and really makes the most of the high definition touchscreens on the latest and most popular mobile devices. It’s not just the standard elements that look great either – various characters and symbols have their own intricate animations and it’s all backed up by a great soundtrack that perfectly punctuates the action.
The theme of the game itself seems to be inspired by Robin Hood, although with the title character being female, the name has understandably been changed a little. There are also fairy tale elements to the game and it all plays out over an all pays system which, with the five by three board, effectively means 243 ways to win. Special symbols take the form of the wild card and the target, both of which will appear only on reels two, three and four. The wild is self-explanatory, while the target can cause Robyn herself to appear next to the reels and take a shot. This will turn those targets into another symbol, potentially greatly enhancing the relevant winning combinations.
There’s also a Wild Arrow free spins feature, where random target wilds will appear over the course of twelve free games, greatly improving your chances of winning on each and every spin.
Geoff Hansen, Managing Director at Genesis Gaming, commented on the release, saying: “We recognise mobile is a hugely significant growth area for our partners and that dual release is necessary to ensure greater marketing and operations efficiency. This is a momentous occasion for us and we are pleased to have a strong partner in Quickfire, powered by Microgaming, that can enable simultaneous delivery of our titles across such a wide network.”
Neill Whyte, Microgaming’s Head of Product Channels, was also on hand to comment on the launch of Robyn, saying: “Genesis understands the importance of cross platform – developing content which can be enjoyed by all players, irrespective of their preferred playing device. Robyn is our first development partner game to launch simultaneously in Flash and HTML5 on the Quickfire platform hopefully this is the first of many more to come!”
As indicated by Whyte’s comments, Microgaming is at the forefront of so called dual releases, where the online and mobile versions become available at the same time. That means that if you’re a fan of online slots and want the same kind of action on your smartphone or tablet, you can get all that and more at the top Microgaming partner casinos – and we’ve chosen them all for you! You’ll find the top action, Robyn included, at both All Slots Mobile and Royal Vegas Mobile now!
