It’s that time of year when the industry comes together to celebrate achievements, announce new products and do just about everything else imaginable. The G2E Global Gaming Awards are taking place in Las Vegas and there is surprisingly little focus on mobile gaming. However, the reasoning behind the lack of attention quickly becomes clear as players note that the dedicated Mobile and Tablet Gambling Summit will be taking place in Atlantic City over the 27th and 28th October this year.
While the event may be considered as the little brother of G2E, it is by no means short on big names in terms of speakers, sponsors and more. Among the companies involved in some way or another include MGM Resorts, Paddy Power North America and eCOGRA. The event bills itself as being the best place for industry players to come together to showcase what they have to offer, learn new ways of delivering games and providing customer loyalty and plenty more.
One of the main things that the Mobile and Tablet Gambling Summit demonstrates is the fact that mobile gaming is most definitely here to stay, with the industry estimated to be worth over $100 billion globally by 2017. The event does of course have a focus on the North American market, with its European counterpart taking place at another time, but with that part of the industry expected to contribute heavily to the $100 billion total, it is certainly looking likely to offer a great insight into what the industry can expect.
Various speakers will be sharing their expertise at the event, with one that we’re particularly looking forward to being Eamonn Toland, President of Paddy Power North America. Paddy Power is not just one of our most highly recommended mobile casinos, but also really pushes the boundaries of what is currently expected in mobile gaming with unique apps, great marketing and promotions and much more. In effect, the brand alone has managed to shape much of what players currently expect from any mobile gaming environment and it will be interesting to see what they have planned next.
