Yggdrasil Gaming not only has a somewhat unusual name, but is also one of the more unusual companies out there in the gaming space. Rather than a well-established brand that is only now coming to mainstream attention, they are actually a relatively new company that is growing at an accelerated rate. Headquartered in Malta, the company is actually best known for their lottery games although they also already have an established portfolio of slots and progressive jackpots. Now, they are moving firmly into the mobile gaming space with the launch of Jokerizer iSense, their first dedicated mobile slot game.
The name of the game may well be familiar to some players as the desktop version was launched in November last year. Like Net Entertainment with their Touch range, Yggdrasil will be launching mobile conversions of popular games with “iSense” appended to the title. As is almost always the case, the core gameplay on Jokerizer iSense remains the same as on the desktop version, with players spinning over ten win lines and three rows of symbols. One subtle addition, specifically designed for mobile players, is the “tap reel’s feature” whereby players can tap anywhere on the screen to either stop the reels in the middle of a spin or cancel autoplay at the touch of a button.
While the company’s growth has already been impressive, their games are already limited to a select few mobile providers, although many more are expected to be added soon. Their titles are currently available at some of Europe’s more niche casinos, such as Norgesspiill and SpilleAutomater, while also having been added to the better known Vera and John Casino platform. Indeed, Bjorn Honerud Grene, a spokesperson for SpilleAutomater, put the popularity of Jokerizer into perspective, commenting: “Player feedback on Jokerizer has been phenomenal and we can’t wait to hear what they think of the new iSense mobile version that contains even more unique gameplay features.”
Fredrik Elmqvist, CEO at Yggdrasil Gaming, was also on hand to comment on their move into mobile, saying: “The game was heavily promoted on television in the Nordics during the Christmas holidays so it was only natural that it should also be the first of our products to be adapted to mobile. It is one of the best mobile games on the market right now, backed up by the fact that many leading operators have already gone live with it and many more will do the same in the next few months.”
