Sheriff Gaming is a name that may well be unfamiliar to many of our readers here at MobileCasino.net, but their announcements at this week’s ICE conference in London mean that that is highly likely to change over the coming months as they expand their operations into the mobile space.
The company is comparatively young in the industry, having launched as recently as 2009, but is already making waves. Their existing reputation is built on their creation of brand new three dimensional online slots that players will never have seen before and their aggressive expansion strategy has seen them release more than forty titles in the last year alone. They have worked hard to carve out a place in what is certainly already a crowded niche, with the likes of Microgaming, Playtech and more recently Net Entertainment all scooping up massive slices of the software provision industry. However, the company clearly felt that there was room for one more and they have been pumping out slots and some of the most realistic table games ever seen.
Sheriff Gaming also looks to set itself apart from others in the space by offering a comprehensive package to casino operators, effectively taking all of the stress out of adding their games to the existing library. Every game is designed in Flash, meaning no concerns over integrating them into downloadable software as they are all ready for instant online play, and each and every one offers a thorough free play option – crucial when attempting to convince seasoned veteran slots players to try something new. They even build in language compatibility with every title, with 21 different languages currently available on all games.
Their strategy certainly seems to be paying off. Just last week, Bet365 became the first truly global operator to announce that they would be adding the full range of Sheriff titles to their online casino. However, the company looks set to enter the mobile space in full force following this week’s announcement of the SMARTTM platform, which is exclusively designed with iPhone and Android players in mind.
According to the company’s own plans, the SMARTTM suite will use HTML5 technology – the same scripting language used by Microgaming and Playtech for their mobile software – to deliver realistic three dimensional renditions of their games to mobile players. The company is keen to convert their entire online library for mobile use, and will also be developing new games specifically for the platform. Indeed, the first game for the platform, Spartania, has already been demonstrated and it most certainly looks like one of the most graphically impressive mobile casino games seen so far from any software provider.
In something of an unusual twist, Sheriff claims that the platform can also be used to power land based slots. Many of our readers will be used to the likes of IGT, Novomatic and Aristocrat capturing large shares of the land based market and then transferring their titles to online and mobile casinos, but Sheriff Gaming is doing things the other way round based on demand.
As many online and mobile casinos explore the potential of combining game libraries from a number of different software providers, there may well be a sufficient gap in the mobile market for a new player. Mr Green Mobile Casino has already proved the viability of such an idea by offering both Microgaming and IGT mobile slots on its platform, and the sheer quality of Sheriff’s slots may well see them ‘slotting’ in next to their more established competitors. Naturally, a wider selection of games is always good news for players, and you can keep up with the company’s journey into the mobile market here at MobileCasino.net.
