If industry sources is to be believed, owners of smartphones will soon be in for an absolutely huge step into the future: the introduction of phones with 3D display capability. The technology – labeled “Austereoscope” – already exists and sounds like something straight out of a science fiction movie. It is projected that by 2014 more than 60 million people will own and use 3D-smartphones, ushering in a new era in communications.
Mobile casinos also will pick up on this without any doubt, and the first all-3D game for mobile phone casino gambling could already become available in late 2012 or early 2013. Since iPhones and Android-powered devices currently dominate the market, it is expected that the futuristic technology will first be introduced for them, with other mobile phones to be gradually included later.
“Austereoscope” does not necessitate the use of special viewing glasses as the 3D effects are directly rendered on the screen. Patrons of mobile casinos will soon be mesmerized by games that are going to feel like one would be physically present in an actual real-life casino. While at this point it is not yet clear which game will have the honour of pioneering this brand-new experience, it is almost certain that eventually all mobile gambling will take place in this exciting, new, irresistible, life-like environment.
The conquest of the mobile phone is an amazing success story. It wasn’t too long ago that mobile phones were clunky devices exclusively available in luxury cars. When mobile phones advanced to the stage of being “carry-ons”, they hadn’t shrunken much in size. Being extraordinarily expensive, they usually were the exclusive domain of highly-paid corporate executives and celebrities. As technology advanced and manufacturing costs plummeted, mobile phones – and a little later, smartphones – matured into an everyday consumer product as ubiquitous as the “walkman” used to be.
Nobody can say for sure what further development is going to have in store for mobile phones and smartphones. But with the apparently impending advent of 3D mobile gambling one thing is for certain: “The Future Is Now!”
